This is the Wyoming trail run of trail runs. You may have your tags, you may do your glassing, but will you run this course? I dare you…
This isn’t about the stalk, this is about the speed – stalk ’em, then pass ’em!
It might be snowy and frigid, or it could be mild and dry….there may be rattlers, or there may be bears. Dress in layers, bring your bear spray, keep alert, and bring a warm/dry change of clothes for the afterparty!
We recommend running with bear spray and your phone. There will be volunteers stashed throughout the course to ensure safety and help make sure you’re on or near the course. All courses will be marked with colored flagging. Be aware, these trail races will take longer than your road times. Out of respect for our volunteers’ time, we will only allow walkers/hikers on the 1 and 6 mile courses. The 16 miler and 50K are reserved for runners only (just don’t expect to run the whole thing, you mortal). There will be a cut-off of 10 hours for the 50K. Aid Station #4 (16 Miles) has a cutoff of 1pm. We reserve the right to pull anyone from the course in the event of extreme time delay or if any racers’ health looks to be at risk. See below for courses.
Beer, Burgers (and other beverages) will be provided for all registrants. Friends & family will be able to purchase meal tickets for $10 to partake as well - cash & cards accepted.
Aid Stations - there will be 2 for the 6 Milers, 3 for the 16 Milers, and 7 for the 50Kers. All will include water, Skratch hydration drink, and snacks. All aid stations will be CUPLESS. Please bring your own bottle, cup, or pack. 16 Milers and 50Kers will be required to carry at least a bottle.
Cut-Offs - Hikers are welcome for the 1 and 6 Mile distances. Cut-off times for the 16 Mile is 4 hours, and cutoff for the 50K is 10 hours.
No Dogs On Course - Unfortunately our insurance does not allow dogs on course moving forward. I know, I'm super bummed too - but your furry friend can hang out at the start/finish awaiting your return.

The Hunt Trail Race is located at the Cody Archery Range which is off the south side of Highway 14 east of Cody. From downtown Cody, it's about a 10 minute drive - you will see a sign for the Cody Archery Club and it's exactly across from the McCullough Peaks west entrance.
